Lao Airlines acquired two brand-new Airbus A320s in late 2011. They were originally destined for Libya's Afriqiyah Airways, but owing to the revolution there, the order was cancelled.
The aircraft were built to Afriqiyah's specification and have a more hi-tech entertainment system than is usually found on these aircraft, featuring seatback TVs throughout and on-demand films and TV.
