Lao Airlines (airline code QV) is the national airline of Lao, based at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, the country's capital.
Ownership
The airline was founded in 1976 by the Lao government following the establishment of the Peoples' Democratic Republic. It was formed from the merger of Royal Air Lao and Lao Air Lines.

Lao Airlines has an extensive domestic network but also flies to China, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.
Other Information
Lao Airlines has undergone a fleet modernisation programme, taking delivery of more western-built aircraft, including, in late 2011, two new Airbus A320s that are used on international routes.
