IndiGo (airline code 6E) is a privately-owned low cost carrier, based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. Founded in 2005, the airline received an award for Best Domestic Low Cost Carrier in India three years later.

IndiGo set its sights on international routes in August 2011 by starting flights to Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai and Muscat.

At the Paris Airshow in June 2011 Indigo made an offer of £16bn for 180 Airbus A320 aircrafts, 150 of which were for the new more fuel efficient A320neo, for more information click here.
