FLYDUBAI POOR CANCELLATION POLICY FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS
Booked a flight for Dubai to Saudi Arabia in Dec 2011 and had to change, send many request, motivations and escalated the matter to FlyDubai with NO success. I have lost AED1035, which other airlines have considerations for International travellers.
So, I would NOT use them again, I consider them to be 'NOT CONSIDERATE' and 'Customer FOCUSED' but greedy. I'm of the opinion they will NOT last after searching the web about the complaints received about FLYDUBAI.
Worst ever experience in my life. Forbid me from boarding on the plane as I was walking towards the gate for being 4 minutes late to gate call. Ground agents of flydubai are rude, aggressive and impolite. Treating us like animals or insects with no consideration to health condition or in-capability. Helpless, useless, and no professionalism at all from any staff member of flydubai on the ground in Dubai airport Terminal 1.
The only decent people in there and were very helpful are the Emirates national Police force (men & women) who stood by all the time from filing the report of my complaint against this lady flydubai ground stewardess who insulted me in front of thousands of passengers especially that a seated passenger filmed the whole episode on his mobile phone, to driving us to terminal 2 to catch another plane instead of the one we missed by that impulsive flydubai employee.
It turned out that it is only a commercial matter after all .. Will not flydubai anytime soon for sure.

They cancelled my flight with no good reason, and offered no refund. They only gave me two choiced of accepting a non-transferrable voucher which is only good for 12 months, or to rebook my flight for another date. I ended up having to book a flight with another carrier, and I'm stuck with a voucher which I will probably never use. What a waste of money. I will never use FlyDubai ever again!

I was flying your aircraft on the 5th of August from Colombo to Dubai..flight FZ556, and it was the best experience i've had on any plane : )
Thankyou so much for having such a fantastic crew. I was alone with my 1 year old baby boy who was rather ill that day and was acting like a nightmare. Your crew, especially an Arab lady named Lena, and a lovely Spanish Stewardess ushered me into the spacious front row with all 3 seats to myself and baby, seeing that the flight was only half full, and they attended to him like he was a Prince!
They allowed him to wander around without disturbing the other passengers, and made sure he wasn't fussing as much as he could have despite him being so sick, and even got him a pamper from someone after his tummy troubles got out of hand! And finally my baby and i ended up on the floor of your aircraft, because he was in really bad shape, and the Spanish stewardess sat down with us and stroked him to sleep while chatting to me. (By this time all the passengers were well asleep and we were the only ones up in the dark).
We only managed to rest and catch a few winks finally, because your crew made sure the toilets were cleaned well enough to use continously, and because they amused my baby until he forgot his troubles and was settled enough in your aircraft to fall asleep : D Thankyou so much FZ556's crew. You were simply fantastic and so hardworking. And the cherry on our cake..well, when we landed, Lena helped us out and carried my baby's 5 kilo bag all the way to the waiting bus, found me a seat and sat me down there. What a treat! and i've told all of my hundreds of friends and family what a lovely experience i had despite my child's nightmarish behaviour, which was looked upon with alot of sympathy and understanding by your crew.
We're frequent flyers, my baby and i, and i've never experienced this kind of trouble with him before, but if not for FlyDubai's simply AMAZING crew..well, i would have never flown again for a good, long while : o Thankyou guys for turning my nightmare into a dream : D What a personalized and really wonderful encounter i've had with so many genuine people : )
Your patience and kindness will never be forgotten,and i'd recommend this crew to anybody!

Flydubai's refund policy is a scam. My flight was cancelled last minute and flydubai did not give me my money back. I had to buy another ticket to fly to Dubai and catch my connecting flight to London.
Regardless of what happens, you can never get your money back from them. Its a huge scam. They sell their tickets and then don't fly and guess what, you don't get your money back. They will give you a voucher which only the same passenger can use and interestingly enough it is only valid for 12 months.
I will never recommend this airline. The staff are also very rude. I would rather pay a bit more or wait a bit more for another flight, but will never fly this airline. This way at least I will be sure that I will get my money back and treated well if the flight is cancelled.
NEVER BOOK WITH FLYDUBAI
we flew to Dubai for a day trip from Doha, flight out was on time, and only 1/3rd full, crew were smart, pleasant and welcoming, and the return journey was equally pleasant, though the plane was 60% full. Using Dubai T2 was not an issue, we were at Burj Khalifa within 45 minutes of landing. Great for a short break.
Fly Dubai operates from Dubai's terminal 2, which is on the opposite side of the runway to terminals 1 to 3, so if you are transferring from an Emirates flight or other carrier, then allow a little extra time for the transfer.
My flight was to Bahrain, I had pre-booked a piece of checked in luggage as well as an extra legroom seat. The check-in process for me was simple, but my travelling partner had some unexpected baggage and getting this checked-in and paid for took 20 minutes and was not straight forward, ferrying between 2 different counters with slips of papers.
Security and Passport control was slow taking a further 15 minutes. Air side holds a few fast food establishments, Costa and Duty Free. Boarding is all by bus.
The flight itself was fine but the extra legroom seats were not very spacious as they were front row, hence you can't stretch your legs much, the other extra legroom seats are the emergency exit rows over the wings.
There was a generous food and drink menu on board and which I didn't partake in. There was no in-flight magazine, only a brochure of items to buy.
Landing in Bahrain I noticed that one of the packages had been serverely damaged and contents removed, I brought this to the attention of the baggage counter who said Fly Dubai don't compensate for damages, only total loss.
Overall experience I thought was not as good as other low cost options, however their flight timings are more convenient to Bahrain than Air Arabia.

Long story short, for the first and last time with flydubai I booked a trip of 4 flights. Before even taking the first flight, it was delayed 1h and 40m without calling me, and my 2nd flight was not on their system so they didn't let me fly it although I had it printed. I spent 2 hours at the airport, of which 1/2 hour on mobile international call with their only call centre (in Dubai), they gave me no solution, no alternative, no refund. I went home and couldn't go on my trip any more.
