Flydubai
Flydubai (airline code FZ) is Dubai's low-cost airline which commenced operations in June 2009 at Dubai International Airport's Terminal 2.
Ownership
The airline was set up by the state of Dubai. It is run separately from Emirates' the other state-run carrier.
Route Network
Flydubai will concentrate on destinations within four and half hours of its home base. It launched with routes to Alexandria, Amman, Beirut and Damascus. It plans a network throughout India, Eastern Europe, North and East Africa.

Other Information
Like many budget airlines, Flydubai operates a single aircraft type. In 2008 it placed an order for 54 Boeing 737-800s. It configures these with 189 seats, the maximum possible.
