Voted Best Premium Economy product at the Business Traveller Awards 2012
Virgin Atlantic was a pioneer of the premium economy cabin when it brought in "Mid Class" (as it was then termed) in 1992, and since then it has also been the most innovative, with the current seat being the fourth incarnation of this class.
Virgin is currently refurbishing its Premium Economy sections, banking on attracting business travellers whose budgets won't stretch to Upper Class. All its Heathrow aircraft now have the new cabin.
The 38" seat pitch has not been lengthened, but the new cabins have dark purple leather seats and the whole feel is classy. Unlike British Airways, an upgraded meal served on china is offered by Virgin in Premium Economy, including pre-flight drinks and an after dinner liqueur. Passengers also get an amenity kit in a stylish slimline wallet.
Virgin Atlantic added 30 seats to the Premium Economy cabin on its Heathrow 747 aircraft - nearly doubling the capacity, following a 20% increase in passengers flying in the revamped Premium Economy cabin since 2007.
Seat configuration differs depending on the aircraft flown.

Boarding at Grenada a bit chaotic, called for uc pe and priority which started a scramble by everybody, staff just let anyone through. Plenty of legroom, but I found seat uncomfy. Evening meal good spinach ricotta ravioli, good service. Lots of people slept I dozed for a bit but found... more
