Economy class on Turkish Airlines' long-haul flights offers a seat pitch that varies from 31-34 inches. Seats are always around 17 inches wide.
Entertainment includes a choice of up to 12 films on aircraft that do not have on demand systems. Those that do have the Planet digital system and individual touch-screens.
Aircraft which have these are the B777, A340, A330, B737-800 and B737-900. Depending on the type of aircraft, passengers may choose their programme either on their touch-screen or by using the remote control device attached to their seat.
In-flight connectivity enables passengers to send and receive text messages and e-mail. News is also given hourly and the weather report every four hours in an on-line broadcast. Connections enabling passengers to listen to, or watch on their individual screens, content on their personal iPods or USB devices are available on some B777 and A330 aircraft.
Economy meals are served on melamine dishes, with the exception of hot meals, which are served on porcelain. On some flights,meals may be served informally in a disposable plastic box. Turkish Airlines continues to provide menu cards and aperitif drinks on journeys with adequate flight times and provides a choice of hot meals.

Had a flight from toronto-istanbul-karachi which was supposed to start on December 23,2012. Flight from Toronto was delayed for 16 hours because of mechanical problem with the aircraft. They kept us in the lounge by delaying the flight every 30 minutes. After 2 hours they brought around 100+ small bag of potato chips for 300+ travellers which sure was not enough.... more
