Thomson Airways' short-haul fleet offer a standard seat pitch of 28 inches, which is the absolute minimum found on any UK aircraft. There are some opportunities for more comfort and legroom, but you will have to pay for them.

Seats at the exits and bulkheads are known as Extra seats. These are priced at £20 for short-haul and £40 medium-haul.

From May 2013, Thomson was due to introduce a premium seating section to it Boeing 757 fleet that fly to places like Egypt and Cape Verde.

Passengers will get 33-34 inches of legroom, an increase of four to five inches. The extra legroom seats are not located at the emergency exit, meaning they can be booked for anyone, including children. They cost from £35 per person for a return flight.

Thomson Airways also charges if you want the certainty of seating your party together, although you cannot dictate exactly which seats this will be in. This costs from £15 per adult and £7 per child per return flight.

There is a snack trolley selling food and drink, but you will have to pre-book hot meals if you want them. These cost £15 each for adults and £10 for children up to 12.

Thomson Airways offers entertainment only on flights of more than seven hours, so if travelling short-haul, we recommend bringing your own entertainment, particularly if travelling with children.
