Thomson Airways offers a separate cabin on long-haul flights under the Premium brand. It is continuing with the Premium product despite the 50% increase in Air Passenger Duty levied by the UK government which, as the cabin is in the same tax category as a scheduled airline's first class offering, means an additional £150 on the price of the upgrade on the outbound journey.
Thomson's Premium cabin on the Boeing 767 is actually similar to a scheduled airline premium economy section although the seat pitch, described as "at least" 36 inches, but usually 37 inches, is slightly less than, for example, Virgin Atlantic's 38 inches. The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner offers the full 38 inches, however.
Upgrades to Premium start from £169 return. Seats in the cabin are leather armchair-style with foot support and nine-inch seatback TV with touchscreen control. The in-flight entertainment includes 12 films, 30 TV programmes, 10 radio channels plus CDs and games.
Other benefits are an amenities pack, dedicated check-in and priority boarding. Meal service is four courses with wine and snacks. All drinks except Champagne are included.

Do not upgrade! This is a con by Thomson. Our meal was exactly the same as economy passengers, the drinks ran out after one drink. Most importantly the entertainment, which was the sole reason for upgrading, was offered to economy passengers for just £5. This cost me £600. Complete rip off that Thomson have refused to give me any back. Please don't be caught out and... more

We booked our holiday in May 2012 flying to Sanford on the Dreamliner. This holiday was our son's 21st birthday present. Unfortunately we were informed that the Dreamliner was unable to fly, so we decided to upgrade to Premium Class seats. WHAT A MISTAKE !! and waste of money. We were informed that we were booked on Row 5 of 5 rows - SUPER. We arrived at Manchester... more
