TAM's economy long-haul product varies slightly as the new B777-300ER and A330 aircraft have seats with individual IFE and electrical power for charging laptops and mobile phones.

TAM's new economy seating is of the latest type, i.e. lightweight with curved armrests and increased legroom due to the seatback pocket being placed in the top of the seat.

Boeing 777s are configured mainly 3-4-3. The seat pitch is 32 inches, width is 17 inches and individual screens are nine inches wide.

On the A330-200, the cabin is configured 2-4-2. Seat pitch is 32 or 33 inches and width is 17 inches. Seat-back screens are also nine inches wide.

The long-range Airbus A340-500 is also 2-4-2, but seat pitch is 33 inches and seats are 18 inches wide. The screen size is 6.4 inches.

Older Boeing 767s are 2-3-2. The seat pitch 31 or 32 inches and width 18 inches. Only the 767s lack individual audio-video on demand.

Boarding is a real problem in GRU, baggage handling is really bad. However the flight was very nice, the food very good, the cabin amazingly quiet and cabin crew very nice. JJ8026 GRU-SCL more
