All of Swiss's 50-plus short-haul fleet now have new seating in both economy and business class cabins with carbon frames and leather upholstery.
In economy, all passengers, including those on short flights, are served a choice of drinks. Depending on the time of day and the duration of the flight a snack is included. This is a hot snack on longer flights and cold snack on shorter flights.
The Airbus fleet offers in-flight entertainment, flight and arrival information.
From September 2013, Swiss was due to introduce a two tier fare system from and to Geneva on most routes.
The Geneva Economy Flex fare is a traditional economy ticket that can be modified at no additional fee.
Swiss's new tariff is Geneva Economy Light. This allows Swiss to compete better with budget carriers. The fare includes only one piece of carry-on baggage - i.e. no hold luggage - and cannot be changed or refunded, although it can be upgraded to the Economy Flex category.
The new fares apply to all direct European flights to and from Geneva except Barcelona, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Zurich. They include London Heathrow, Gatwick and London City airports.
For Swiss passengers flying from or to Zurich or Basel, there is no change in the current fares and conditions.

The gate staff operated priority boarding immaculately and I was in the first 10 onboard, good to see all the priority pax ensuring that a family with young kids got on first, rather than... more
LYS-ZRH, lovely clear winter's day with snow on the ground and the Alps/Jura clearly in sight. Nice glass of red wine, the best inflight entertainment possible (view out of the window) and very comfortable seats in a 2 + 3 config on this classic British jet. All in all, 45 minutes of pleasure, an aerial tour of some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe. more
