Royal Jordanian (airline code RJ) is the national carrier of Jordan based at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman. The airline is a member of the oneworld alliance.

Ownership

Royal Jordanian was established in 1963 by King Hussein and was privatised in 2007, when a 71% stake was sold off. A charter subsidiary, Royal Wings, was also established, flying from Amman Civil Airport.

Route Network

Royal Jordanian flies to more than 50 destinations and is currently in an expansion phase. New destinations include Hong Kong, Bangkok, Baku, Budapest and Brussels. The airline was one of the first to re-establish air links with Iraq, where it flies to Baghdad, Erbil and Basra in a partnership with AirQuarius Aviation.

Other Information

Royal Jordanian was the first Middle East airline to be invited to join a major alliance when it entered the oneworld partnership in 2007.
