On its long haul fleet, Qatar Airways has several types of business class seats. On the A340, A330-300, and selected A330-200 aircraft it is an almost lie flat seat reclining to 177 degrees with a seat pitch of 78 inches and a seat width of up to 21.8 inches.
Qatar AIrways had also taken delivery of three B777-300ER aircraft. These are all two-class (economy and business) and one of these has the new generation of business class seats - lie-flat with a recline of 180 degrees. The seating configuration is the same in all three, but the business class seating differs between almost lie flat and lie flat.
It is envisaged that the lie-flat seat will also be on the soon-to-be-delivered B777-200LR which is due to arrive at the end of 2008.
On the A330-200 aircraft and the A340-600, the business class seats are termed by Qatar as "seats that turn into beds". The statistics for these seats are a seat pitch of up to 60 inches, a width of up to 20.5 inches and a recline of 165 degrees.

They do not have a dedicated lounge at LGW and instead I had to use the Servisair lounge, which was rather poor - crowded and poor quality refreshments. Boarding was initially fast - business passengers invited to board before anyone else (there was no first class on this flight). The... more

I flew on Qatar Airways from Dubai bound to Bangkok via Doha. The A340-600 flew DOH-BKK-DOH route. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. However, there was a technical fault with my seat, it didn't recline, only after several attempts and when the aircraft came to land, they seat did not move to the up right position!! Unfortunately to me, there... more
