Malaysia Airlines is listed on the stock exchange of Bursa Malaysia under the name Malaysian Airline System Berhad. The Malaysian Government's investment arm and holding company is the majority shareholder with a 48.5 per cent stake. Air Asia's owner Tune Air has a 20.5% stake in Malaysia Airlines following a share swop deal in summer 2011 designed to promote future co-operation.
