More
Lufthansa was the launch customer for this stretched version of the Jumbo Jet, which has a bigger upper deck than its predecessor.
The 787-8 is 18 feet longer than the 747-400 and its noise 'footprint' is claimed to be 30% less.
Lufthansa offers two different layouts on these aircraft. The first, shown here, seats 262 in economy, 92 in business and eight in first class.
Another version seats 298 in economy, 80 in business and eight in first.
This aircraft was the first to carry Lufthansa's updated business class.
Lufthansa was due to take delivery of 20 747-8s by 2015, the first five of which are serving Washington Dulles, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chicago and Los Angeles.
