Corporate-gal flew Lufthansa Business (short haul), on a B737-300 (05/02/2010 11:35)
BHX-FRA-MRS-FRA-BHX
Check-in: All done online, very easy with good seat selection function. Printed my boarding passes in the UK - barcode scanned properly, no problems. Took advantage of the mobile boarding passes from the french end as no printer available. Again, barcode scanned very easily.
Boarding: For a 'full-service' airline I was disappointed that there was no call for business class passengers to board first. However, I can understand them not doing this at Frankfurt as the aircraft were boarded by bus.
Seat: Comfy grey leather seats with yellow piping. As with most european short-haul business class nowadays, the middle seat was kept free and was occupied by a very handy tray table. Not a lot of recline, so not great for sleeping, but ideal with a pillow for a bit of a snooze.
Service: Exceptional, efficient german service most of the time, with the exception of the FRA-BHX leg, although it was late at might and the crew had probably been on their feet for most of the afternoon already.
Food & drink: 4-course meal on each flight, consisting of 'tapas-size' portions which were just right for the length of flight, well presented and extremely delicious. Good quality wines (both red and white) served at the correct temperature. Good german beer (Warsteiner) served in large bottles. Always asked if I wanted water along with my alcoholic beverage. Tea and coffee served after dinner.
General: Connections at Frankfurt were well timed with no feeling that you needed to rush (always a worry in hubs of that size!). Flights were generally on time, although some minor delays were experienced due to crew being late (from another flight) and sheer traffic volume at Frankfurt. Any delays were met with apologetic announcements from the cabin crew and flight deck, but most delays were made up in the air.
Overall: A good quality short-haul business product, through an efficiently run Eurohub. Well worth considering if you wish to fly from a regional UK airport rather than having to travel hours to get to London!

alwaysinclub flew Lufthansa Business (short haul), on a Avro RJ85 (21/12/2009 18:52)
The flight between Munich and Hannover was operated by an RJ85, which seemed very old. Getting inside, the interior was worn and appeared noisy. Sitting in 2A, was cramped, I would have prefered 1A and would recommend doing whatever it takes to get that seat! Tray tables were in the armrest because the first row of seats is a pair off centre. Meal was poor, slightly better than economy with an average bar selection.
Overall:
