A short flight from London to Warsaw.
It's quite an old plane but reasonably presented for it's age.
Boarding took place in order (business and star alliance cardholders).
It was a 6.30am flight so I was hoping for a roll. Was a bit shocked when it turned out to be a small chocolate wafer bar and a glass of water. You could purchase other items. They were not expensive at about £1 for a soft drink and £2 for a sandwich but for a full service carrier I was expecting at least a stale cheese roll to keep me going.
The seats are quite tight and at 6ft my knees were against the back of the seat in front.
I had a great flight. Very comfortable seats and excellent service. Very clean , well maintain, pleasant to be on the board of this kind of machine :) Very professional crew service provided with compassion and politeness
On the boarding pass there was wrong Gate #. We were able to find the gate on time but boarding was delayed three times. Service in the plane was so bad that we decided not to fly with LOT anymore.
It was a flight from Warsaw to Toronto and I had to walk to the back of the plane to ask for water for my kids after waiting for more than two hours for some crew to appear in seating area. The back of the plain where was a kitchen was crowded with people mostly from Eastern Europe who were having drink after drink
Food was worse that I ever tried in any airplane.
Entertainment was down in Economy class during entire flight. There was no announcement from the Captain or Copilot about current location, attitude or speed during the flight.
Airplane was B-787 Dreamliner. Nice new plane with a great features, but LOT crew did not match with it.
EMB series planes are by far the best aircrafts for short and medium haul flights. Moreover LOT can offer also a very professional and efficient crew. A very good combination.
MarKir6 flew LOT Polish Airlines Economy (12/10/2012 21:04)
When checking in with United Airlines (my ticket was bought through LOT and it was my main airline) flight number xxxx Kansas City - Chicago-Warsaw-Minsk I was denied boarding, because my ticket and reservation number was not found in the system when American Airlines used my passport.
Then I showed my E-ticket with the number xxxxxx; and I was told that this ticket was voided and that I needed to call LOT Airline. After my friend and I called LOT in NY, USA using 212-789-0970 number we were told that if I use E-ticket xxxxxx(new number) and I should be able to get on the flight. However, at the United Airlines check-in, I was told that this new E-ticket does not have reservation number. We called the LOT helpline again and they gave us reservation number of “xxxxx”.
Nevertheless, United Airlines checked it and told me that this reservation number did not have ticket/conformation number. This time we wanted to talk with the manager of the LOT helpline in NY, USA; but after waiting on hold for 22 minutes we were told that all managers are busy and cannot talk to us. I had to purchase another ticket to fly to my destination.
I flew on this airlines quite a few times now. September 2011 was my last EVER flight with LOT Polish Airlines.
Why? I carried some gifts for my family members in my luggage, after landing in my destination, luggage was missing a lock which at that point it didnt raised my concerns, until I got home and they were nowhere to be found. I called LOT and even visited their offices - no help at all, not even an apology. Worst customer service ever! And exactly what can you expect is being rubbed. Here are my flight details. JFK-WAW-JFK 09/2011. I dont even wait for their Dreamliner Delivieries. Flight comfort might be better with 787 but you can still get rubbed using this air carrier.
I was flying from Warsaw to JFK and the flight wasn't too bad.
I was sitting in Economy class and there wasn't a lot of legroom but the seat was fine for sitting. It was horrible for sleeping though. The crew seemed pretty nice and there were 3 meals on that 9 hour flight.
The airline isn't punctual at all, my flights (I've been on 6 with this aircraft) all of them were at least 30 minutes late, but I guess that's just LOT.
To say it shortly average flight rate 3.5 out of 6 the food and seats could be better.
Good seats, soft. Should have a better selection of drinks and real food instead of a sandwich.
At Heathrow they use BMI for check in /boarding. The onboard meal is usually very good. The seat pretty standard. The aircraft are older than most and they don’t have winglets. If considering LOT for point to point (i.e., LHR – WAW) do look at other airlines as they are much cheaper. Consider BA and from October 09 Aer Lingus.
Seat 7C which was the third row of Economy. Legroom felt spacious and I felt it was a bit more than some other European carriers. My early morning flight had a drinks service and food was a reasonable size ham roll. Despite being a flight from Warsaw there were a choice of English newspapers to read. Boarding seemed to start late but was efficient and we departed on time.
