JAL (also known as Japan Airlines - airline code JL) is a Japanese carrier founded in 1951. It is a publicly-listed company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

JAL's international hub is at Narita International airport, Tokyo, Japan. It also has an extensive network of flights from Tokyo's Haneda airport. There is also a mini-hub at Osaka's Kansai airport. 

JAL is a member of the oneworld alliance and has a joint venture with American Airlines covering routes between the US and Japan. The airline's frequent flier programme is known as Mileage Bank. 

As of 2013, JAL served 287 routes with 220 aircraft.
