The Airbus A340-600 is a long-haul aircraft with four engines.
This A340-600 seats 352 in two classes, economy and the long-haul business class product Business Plus. The airline has over 30 of the four-engine A340s, in both the -300 and and the longer -600 model.
The latter type was due to be refitted with new seating from May 2013. They will have 46 new fully flat business seats and 300 economy seats. Entertainment on the refitted aircraft will be on demand and each month some 50 feature films will be available, plus television series, documentaries, some 200 musical options, and 3D games, among many other choices.
Iberia was due to add Wi-Fi Internet access and SMS capability for all its long-haul customers, and both the new Business and Economy class seats feature power and communications jacks for passengers’ electronic devices.
The A340s are used on routes to Los Angeles and Latin America.
