Emirates received its first 777-200LR in August 2007. This aircraft features Emirates' newest business and first class offering, with angled lie-flat seats in business, and suites in first class. The 777-200LR debuted on the carrier's Dubai-Sao Paulo flights in 2007, which was the first direct route between the Middle East and South America.
