Cathay Pacific is upgrading the economy class seating on all its aircraft for both medium and long haul fleet, as reported by Business Traveller (see link below).
Note. The picture opposite shows the new economy class product. Please see individual aircraft pages for the old economy seats.
New Product (Currently only B747-400s and A340s flying London - Hong Kong)
Cathay Pacific’s new Economy Class offers what they refer to as "a fixed living space" as the seat reclines without having to tilt backwards. The seat rather cleverly swivels down and forwards while the back is fixed, having the effect of lowering you into a recline position. Leg room is not sacrficed as your feet and legs fit under the fixed recline back of the seat in front.
The seat, designed and manufactured by B/E Aerospace, features the same technology used in an award-winning office chair that provides "dynamic and continuous support for the spine in all positions."
Other features include a bigger personal television and the introduction of audio and video entertainment on demand.
Old Product
Cathay Pacific's economy product will be available aboard much of its fleet for some years to come. However, they're bright and spacious, with 32” seat pitch with adjustable lumbar support, a flexible headrest and foot support.
Personal TV screens are available in every seat, with a lots of TV and audio channels in a array of languages.

This aircraft had the new economy seats. They are comfy, nice and wide and have a good amount of leg room. There is also good recline, and the seats are designed nicely as when you recline the... more

TominScotland flew Cathay Pacific Economy, on a B747-400 (4 class)
I joined this flight from Hong Kong to London from a delayed Dragonair flight and so did not have the opportunity to visit The Wing. I was not long say down in my aisle seat (49C) when we pushed back and the Captain announced a long flying time of 12' 40" to London. Disappointingly, the seats were Cathay's old Economy version - the elderly Australian couple next to... more
