Bmi (airline code BD) is the trading name for British Midland Airways Ltd, a scheduled airline whose headquarters are located at Donnington Hall near to East Midlands airport.

Ownership

Sir Michael Bishop sold his controlling 50 per cent plus one share in bmi to Lufthansa in late 2008, giving Lufthansa an 80 per cent stake. In autumn 2009 it then bought the remaining 20 per cent from SAS.
