BH Air
BH Air (airline code 8H) stands for Balkan Holidays Air. As the name suggests, it is the charter airline subsidiary of Balkan Holidays, the Bulgarian tour operator. The carrier is based in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital.
Ownership
BH Air was established in 2001 by Captain Ianko Ivanov. It is majority owned by Balkan Holidays, Bulgaria's largest tour operator.
Route Network
BH Air operates short and medium-haul flights to the main tourist destinations in Bulgaria, chiefly the beach resorts around Varna and Burgas airports. It also flies to Sofia to serve the ski resorts of Borovets, Bansko and Pamporovo.
Other Information
BH Air has branched out to operate flights for other airlines. It has operated a lease deal with the Virgin Group in the past to fly Virgin Nigeria aircraft and is currently involved with Sri Lanka Airlines in a low-cost venture, Mihin Lanka.
The carrier has a small fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.
