Alitalia's economy class is known as Classica.
Alitalia is a full service airline, but it faces heavy competition from the no-frills sector, so expect its in-flight offering to be less generous than in the past.
Depending on time of day, a snack or light meal is served followed by hot drinks or a choice of soft drinks.
You can upgrade to an extra legroom seat for £20 one way.
