Air India has a big aircraft order in progress. As well as eight
ultra-long range Boeing 777-200LRs - part of the 68 strong-order placed
in 2005 - there are also 15 B777-300ERs, 27 B787 Dreamliners and 18
narrow body B737-800s.
Air India also has 43 Airbus
aircraft on order -- 20 A321s, 19 A319s and 4 A320s -- twelve of which
have already been inducted.
One of Air India's most important future plans is the joining of Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance.
