This Boeing 777-300 is configured 3-4-3 in economy (A,B,C - E,F,G,H - J,K,L), giving it a huge capacity of 472 passengers.
The denser configuration started on flights to the French Caribbean, but as new aircraft are delivered it is being used across the Air France network on routes like New York and Shanghai.
Only a few other airlines currently have 10 across seating in economy and the feedback is that the aisle seats are definitely ones to avoid, since the narrow gangway means you are frequently knocked by trolleys and passengers.
Getting a good economy seat on this aircraft is very important, but there simply aren't many options. Row 10, at the front of economy, faces a bulkhead and is used for bassinets.
In all, only seats B,C,J and K in rows 30 and 45, provide extra legroom and you will have to pay extra for these under Air France's Seat Plus option.
