Air China has a total of 15 of the famous B747-400 jumbo jet.
This type known as B747-400M or B747-400 'Combi' sacrifices some cabin space for a larger cargo hold and as a result offers 64 fewer seats in the rear of the aircraft.
This B747-400 Combi has 280 seats - ten in first class, 24 in business and 246 in economy.
Air China uses the 747-400 Combi on major international routes, with increased cargo demand, offering a three-class cabin. First Class features an 59in seat pitch and 160 degrees recline. Business Class is quite dated, offering a 38in seat pitch and 145 degrees recline. Both First and Business Class sport PTVs, Economy does not. Economy Class seats offer a 32in seat pitch.
Note that this type of aircraft is being phased out and replaced with more modern B777-300ER aircraft.
