Air Berlin operates an extensive fleet of aircraft across both the Airbus and Boeing families. In short-haul, these are all in an all-economy 3-3 configuration with a 30-inch pitch, while long-haul aircraft vary.
Although a low-fares airline, Air Berlin does offer a range of complimentary snacks and beverages even in economy class plus a full meal service on long-haul flights.
On short-haul routes, overhead TV screens show programmes and there is also a radio selection. On flights over four hours, a film is shown.
There are options for extra space on many aircraft, but you will have to pay extra. These are marked as XL seats on Air Berlin's own seating plans. These cost around €20 per sector short-haul and €60 long-haul.
Note that XL seats cannot be reserved for babies and children under 12, people travelling with children under 12, expectant mothers, physically or mentally disabled passengers or by those whose mobility is restricted due to their size, illness or for age reasons.

Very smooth flight wich landed perfectly on time. Route flown was Barcelona to Dusseldorf. Great cabin crew, good legroom and very clean airplane. We got a sandwich and 1 or 2 drinks. more
